The Wyoming Department of Corrections will receive $196,027 from the Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners Formula Grant program (CFDA 16.593) from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2026. Funds will support four forensic peer specialist positions - two at the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp and one each in Lusk and Rawlins, Wyoming. The peer specialists will work with the agency's RSAT programs, which provide in-prison substance use disorder residential treatment at two locations. Additional monitoring and tracking of continuing care services after release will also be supported. Funds will aid more intensive coordination, collaboration, service delivery and post-release referral efforts for the evidence-based prevention and treatment programs. Performance measurement and reporting for the RSAT programs will likewise receive assistance.
