About this award

The Office on Violence Against Women awarded The Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance $353,303 on October 1, 2025, under the State Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalitions Program (CFDA 16.556).

Action Alliance, the statewide coalition coordinating Virginia's comprehensive response to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking, uses these formula grant funds to coordinate state victim services activities and collaborate with federal, state, and local entities engaged in violence against women activities. The award supports work authorized under both the STOP Violence Against Women set-aside, which funds victim services coordination and multi-agency collaboration, and the Sexual Assault Services Program set-aside, which funds coordination with sexual assault programs and service providers, judicial and law enforcement agencies, courts, and child protective services to develop appropriate responses to sexual assault; public education campaigns; grant distribution monitoring; and policy development with public officials to reduce sexual assault.

The performance period runs from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026, with place of performance in Richmond, Virginia. Action Alliance operates the 24/7 Statewide Hotline providing crisis support and legal services to approximately 15,000 annual victims through sub-award relationships with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and Virginia Department of Social Services, and implements the Project for Empowerment Survivors offering legal consultation and advocacy.
