About this award

The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women awarded Texas Association Against Sexual Assault, Inc. $243,213 on October 1, 2025, under the State Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalitions Program (CFDA 16.556), a formula grant.

The funding supports TAASA's coordination of statewide victim services activities and collaboration with federal, state, and local entities engaged in violence against women activities. Under the STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant set-aside, TAASA may use funds to coordinate state victim services and collaborate with federal, state, territory, and local entities. Under the Sexual Assault Services Program set-aside portion, TAASA may work with local sexual assault programs to encourage appropriate responses to sexual assault; collaborate with judicial and law enforcement agencies on case response; work with courts and child protective services on custody and visitation issues when sexual assault is a factor; design and conduct public education campaigns; plan and monitor grant distribution; and collaborate with federal, state, and local officials to develop and implement policies reducing sexual assault.

The period of performance runs from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. Place of performance is Austin, Texas. TAASA, a tax-exempt nonprofit organization designated as Texas's state-level sexual assault coalition, receives this recurring annual formula grant to serve as an intermediary building organizational and community capacity while coordinating comprehensive responses to sexual violence across the state.
