DESCRIPTION:THIS AGREEMENT PROVIDES FUNDING TO PICURIS PUEBLO TO CARRY OUT ITS PROGRAM TO MAINTAIN, PROTECT AND IMPROVE THE WATER QUALITY OF ITS RIVERS, LAKES, STREAMS, GROUNDWATER AND OTHER WATERBODIES. THE ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS OF THIS PROGRAM INCLUDE PREVENTING DEGRADATION OF UNIMPAIRED WATERBODIES AND REDUCING THE NUMBER OF IMPAIRED WATERBODIES ON TRIBAL LANDS.ACTIVITIES:ACTIVITIES INCLUDE PROGRAM MANAGEMENT OF THE PICURIS PUEBLO TRIBAL WATER QUALITY PROGRAM TO INCLUDE QUARTERLY REPORTING AND A FINAL REPORT TO EPA REGION 6, DEVELOPMENT OF A QUALITY ASSURANCE PROJECT PLAN FOR WATER QUALITY AND MACROINVERTEBRATE MONITORING, IMPLEMENTATION OF SURFACE WATER QUALITY MONITORING, BENTHIC MACROINVERTEBRATE SAMPLING, ANALYSIS OF ALL SAMPLING AND UPLOAD OF DATA TO THE WATER QUALITY EXCHANGE NETWORK. SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:THE ANTICIPATED DELIVERABLES INCLUDE QUARTERLY REPORTS, FINAL REPORT, QUALITY ASSURANCE PROJECT PLAN, WATER QUALITY AND MACROINVERTEBRATE SAMPLES. THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE BETTER MANAGEMENT OF THE TRIBAL ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM, BETTER ASSESSMENT OF SURFACE WATER QUALITY AND MACROINVERTEBRATE POPULATION AND DIVERSITY. DIRECT BENEFICIARIES OF THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT INCLUDE RESIDENTS OF THE PICURIS PUEBLO.
