The Oklahoma City-County Health Department has been awarded a $1,972,000 Cooperative Agreement from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Adolescent Health under the Teenage Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) Program (CFDA 93.297). The project, titled "PROJECT REACH: ADVANCING EQUITY IN ADOLESCENT HEALTH", aims to improve adolescent health, wellness, and equity in Oklahoma County by delivering evidence-based programs and youth-friendly health services in school, clinic, and community settings. Annually, the project will directly serve over 4,500 youth aged 13-19 and engage more than 300 youth and adults in promoting health education, accessible adolescent-friendly services, and equity-focused initiatives. Key strategies include providing evidence-based curricula in schools, delivering adolescent-friendly clinical services, and offering out-of-school time programming to build protective factors and support for young people. The project brings together the Oklahoma City-County Health Department, Variety Care Teen Clinic, and Teen Empower! as collaborative partners committed to advancing equity through this comprehensive, community-wide approach to adolescent health.
