The Department of State's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration awarded a $21,873,120 Cooperative Agreement (CFDA 19.510 - U.S. Refugee Admissions Program) to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to ensure all Afghan refugees and Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders coming through the OAW/EW pipeline receive reception and placement services.
Through this award and associated sub-awards to Catholic Charities affiliates across over 35 states, the program will provide comprehensive refugee resettlement services such as arranging initial housing, delivering cultural orientation, offering employment assistance, and strengthening refugee integration and self-sufficiency. The sub-awardees will leverage their extensive experience and nationwide network to deliver tailored services to help newly arrived refugees and SIV holders successfully resettle and integrate into their new communities.
