Description
In particular, the effects of phosphate-based fire retardants on post fire nutrient loading to downstream waterbodies will be examined. The leachable fractions of phosphate, and particulate associate phosphate will be examined based on fire severity (heating and duration) and retardant application. Results will be incorporated into a spatial model that can be used to predict watershed-scale nutrient loading following fire.
