Description
The cabin site appears to harken back to a post-depression, pre-suburban ERA when rough-and-scramble mining enterprises and self-reliance were key to survival. Stabilizing and interpreting rowsell cabin for recreational access includes training NPS personnel and public volunteers in the cyclic treatment of wood and concrete plaster structures for stability and preservation, stabilizing support beams and wall sills, analyzing roofing needs, and preparing for structural repairs. A workshop will focus on roofing replacement and further assessments of the building s structural needs, alongside conducting archival research to locate historic photos of the roof, doors, and windows, while also providing project reporting, public information dissemination, and planning for future workshops.
