THE PRIMARY NATURAL RESOURCE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT AND RESTORATION (NRDAR) DEEPWATER HORIZON (DWH) OIL SPILL PROJECT OBJECTIVE IS TO RECOVER AND SYNTHESIZE HISTORICAL SEABIRD NESTING DATA FOR DRY TORTUGAS NATIONAL PARK TO BETTER UNDERSTAND POPULATION TRENDS AND INFORM FUTURE MONITORING, RESTORATION, AND SEABIRD MANAGEMENT. DATA DRIVEN SEABIRD MANAGEMENT DECISIONS ARE NEEDED TO AVOID CONFLICT WITH OTHER PARK MISSIONS INCLUDING HUMAN VISITOR USE AND RECREATION. THIS PROJECT IS BEING DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE OIL POLLUTION ACT, THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT, AND THE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT AND RESTORATION PLAN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT.
