Description

Monitoring population trends in national parks is especially important because parks are among the few sites in the unites states where population trends due to large-scale regional or global patterns are relatively uncompounded with local changes in land use. Additionally, long-term monitoring throughout IMD provides information that will inform future decisions about important management issues in the parks, including visitor impacts, fire management, and impacts of invasive species and predicted climate change.a post-doctoral researcher will be trained at IBP and mentored by IBP and NPS scientists with expertise in integrated population modeling and avian ecology.
