THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROPOSAL IS TO BUILD CAPACITY OF DRC MINISTRY OF HEALTH FOR ROUTINE INFLUENZA AND OTHER RESPIRATORY DISEASE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS TO MONITOR, DETECT, RESPOND AND MITIGATE TRANSMISSION OF INFLUENZA AND NON-INFLUENZA RESPIRATORY PATHOGENS. AS APPROACH, APPROACH, THIS PROPOSAL IS DEVISED INTO THE FOLLOWING 3 COMPONENTS: 1) COMPONENT1: INFLUENZA CORE ACTIVITIES, 2) COMPONENT 2: NON-INFLUENZA VIRAL AND BACTERIAL RESPIRATORY AND VACCINE-PREVENTABLE PATHOGENS; 3) COMPONENT 3: RAPID RESPONSE TO INFECTIOUS DISEASE OUTBREAKS OR OTHER PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCIES. FOR EACH COMPONENT SHORT-TERMS AND LONG-TERMS OUTCOMES HAVE BEEN DESCRIBED AS WELL AS STRATEGIES AND ACTIVITIES. . THOSE COMPONENTS MAINLY FOCUS ON STRATEGIES SUCH AS BUILDING INFRASTRUCTURE, IMPROVING OF EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SYSTEM SURVEILLANCE INCLUDING ZOONOTIC DISEASES ; ENHANCING THE CAPACITY OF LABORATORY FOR TESTING INFLUENZA AND NON-INFLUENZA RESPIRATORY VIRUS ; IMPROVING DATA REPORTING AN D THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN ALL STAKEHOLDERS INVOLVED IN THE SURVEILLANCE AND CONTROL OF INFLUENZA, THE PREPAREDNESS TO FACE POTENTIAL INFLUENZA AND NON-INFLUENZA OUTBREAKS. FIVE-YEAR WORK PLAN HAS ALSO DESIGNED.
