The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) awarded a $2,669,000 Cooperative Agreement to The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) under the Disabilities Prevention Federal Grant Program (CFDA 93.184). The funding will support ASTHO in developing, implementing, evaluating, and disseminating non-research activities aimed at reducing health disparities and improving the health of people with mobility limitations and/or intellectual disabilities.
Through this 5-year Cooperative Agreement, ASTHO will leverage its expertise and partnerships with state and territorial public health agencies to strengthen public health systems and services nationwide. Key focus areas include modernizing public health data, enhancing workforce recruitment and retention, improving health equity, controlling emerging infectious diseases, and providing technical assistance to strengthen foundational public health capabilities in state and territorial health departments.
