Description

Overdose data to action in states - the oregon health authority, public health division, injury and violence prevention program (ivpp) is applying for overdose data to action (OD2A) in states funding to expand upon OD2A-funded work, sustain overdose surveillance and prevention infrastructure, disseminate data in response to community needs, engage and collaborate with people with lived experience, implement culturally responsive interventions, and supportive local- and state-level partnerships. By august 31, 2028, ivpp proposes to (short-term) increase clinician and patient knowledge about management of pain, increase reach of the pain toolkit to clinicians and patients, increase emergency department (ED) systems and staff awareness of and knowledge about ED's role providing for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD), increase reach of the OUD treatment toolkit to EDS and staff, and increase number of prescription drug monitoring program data sharing interstate agreements; (medium term), improve coordination of public health and local partners to mitigate clinic closure disruptions, improve processes for overdose fatality reviews, and improve statewide responses to overdose increases and coordination of local public health and public safety approaches; and (long-term) improve state and local partnerships to expand harm reduction services and support peer work, increase diversification of statewide funding support to expand linkages to care services, and prevent overdose by funding local public health authorities, community-based organizations, and peer organizations.
