About this award

The Great Lakes Commission (GLC) was awarded a $1.5 million cooperative agreement from the United States Department of Agriculture's National Resources Conservation Service to promote efforts reducing nutrient and sediment runoff in the Great Lakes watershed from April 2023 through December 2027.

Through this award, the GLC will provide conservation technical assistance to organizations across the Great Lakes states. As an interstate compact agency established to promote integrated development and conservation of Great Lakes water resources, the GLC will support the USDA's Soil and Water Conservation program goals of assisting private landowners, conservation districts, tribes and other groups in conserving soil and water resources.
