Description

This funding will build the capacity of the states federally-approved coastal management program within the alabama department of conservation and natural resources (ADCNR) to plan for and implement habitat restoration and conservation projects proposed through funding opportunities connected to the bipartisan infrastructure law. Specifically, ADCNR will use these funds to develop project proposals and accomplish restoration planning that furthers the objectives of many state-led planning efforts that are broadly applicable across alabamas coastal zone. This federal funding will provide support to ADCNR to support staff positions that will conduct stakeholder engagement and project development with coastal communities. This funding will also provide support for the design and engineering of shoreline stabilization approaches at a josephine park, an active waterway access point in baldwin county, AL.
