About this award

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) awarded a $900,000 Cooperative Agreement under the Office for Coastal Management (CFDA 11.473) program to the State of Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR). This funding will build the capacity of Louisiana's federally approved coastal management program to plan and implement habitat restoration and conservation projects proposed through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Specifically, the DNR will partner with the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority to engineer and design a fishing reef at Wonder Lake to enhance levee protection and address erosion. The fishing reef project will provide protection for communities in lower Terrebonne Parish and vulnerable portions of the state's levee system. The award has a performance period from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2027.
