About this award

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is providing $598,698 in federal funding through a Cooperative Agreement under the Office for Coastal Management (CFDA 11.473) program to the New Hampshire Fish & Game Department. This funding will build the capacity of the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve to plan for and implement habitat restoration and conservation projects proposed through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The grant will strengthen the reserve's research, stewardship, and training capacities, focusing on climate adaptation within the Great Bay watershed. This initiative will ensure that communities, scientists, and federal/state agencies share a common understanding of saltmarsh data, restoration priorities, and metrics for assessing condition and restoration success. Additionally, the grant will provide technical support to New Hampshire's coastal communities, non-profits, and agency partners to implement habitat restoration and conservation actions that advance community adaptation in the watershed. The award period is from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027.
