Description

This work will be completed through a tiered approach focused on first 96 known derelict vessels in texas, mississippi, and alabama and then newly identified large marine debris items in all five states. Goma will partner with the mississippi state university coastal and marine extension program and gulf state natural resource agencies to complete these activities. The removals will benefit NOAA trust resources through active removal of many tons of marine debris, assessment of the environmental impacts pre and post removal, and increased awareness of marine debris impacts.
