Description

As NH coastal residents are confronted with increasing sea levels and the need for coastal resiliency, the nhdes coastal program (nhcp) is taking steps to towards implementing its 2021-2025 section 309 coastal hazards enhancement area strategy to develop a vision and action plans for coastal resilience in new hampshire. However, critical barriers concerning unresolved land ownership and coordinated capacity limit resiliency in the hampton seabrook estuary (HSE). This project of special merit lays the initial groundwork required to implement estuary-wide management by resolving unknown deed ownership of salt marsh and salt marsh migration areas (task 1) and advancing regional support by implementing a novel coastal conservation coordinator position as well as supporting the HSE coordinator position at the seabrook hampton estuary alliance (shea) (task 2).
