Description

In addition, the united states seeks to ensure there are sufficient resources to implement priority outcomes of the meetings of each COP. Strengthening cites implementation of decisions related to marine species of concerns will: (1) build on existing work and assistance provided to regional partners, (2) advance information sharing with other cites parties on issues of mutual interest, and (3) to inform decision making by cites parties and provide recommendations for actions that will ensure that trade in marine species at risk is legal and sustainable. To help ensure the implementation of cites requirements, the cites secretariat seeks contributions from NOAA to provide funds to implement decisions adopted at the last meeting of the COP to help address selected marine listings adopted at the cops.
