OIL AND GAS DEVELOPMENT, RANCHINGFOR LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION, AND RECREATION ARE ALL IMPORTANT TO OUR LOCAL ECONOMY, AND ALL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TOSPREAD NOXIOUS WEEDS. WITH OIL AND GAS DEVELOPMENT ESPECIALLY, LAND DISTURBANCE IS NEEDED TO MAINTAIN A VASTNETWORK OF ACCESS ROADS AND WELL PADS, SO THESE DISTURBED AREAS ARE CONSTANTLY AT RISK OF WEED INFESTATIONS.SAN JUAN SWCD PROPOSES TO CONTINUE OUR ONGOING COOPERATIVE NOXIOUS WEED MANAGEMENT PROGRAM WITH THEBLM, OIL AND GAS OPERATORS OF THE SAN JUAN BASIN, RANCHERS, TRIBES, AND OTHER USERS OF OUR PUBLIC LANDS. TREATMENTMETHODS INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO): CULTURAL, BIOLOGICAL CONTROL, CHEMICAL, VEGETATION RESTORATION ANDPHYSICAL MECHANICAL REMOVAL TECHNIQUES.
