Description

Upper nehalem watershed council seeks to continue riparian reforestation efforts with their nehalem riparian forestation (NRF) crew in collaboration with the BLM tillamook field office to conduct essential plant establishment work. The project goal is to improve 20 acres of riparian forest of the upper nehalem watershed, including BLM o c lands in the east fork nehalem, along 4 miles of high priority temperature limited stream reach within documented essential coho salmon habitat areas, by strategically planting 6,000 locally produced native conifer, hardwood, and shrub plant species in well prepared streamside sites. Diverse native plantings provide ecological benefit to aquatic and terrestrial species, including pollinators.
