Description

The proposed project will provide valuable information about diversity, distribution, and relative abundance of moths (lepidoptera) in BLM-identified priority habitats focused east of the continental divide, including habitats within wilderness study and special management areas. The statewide data we have already collected and proposed during this project will be instrumental in helping the montana natural heritage program provide current and comprehensive information about the distribution and status of numerous moth species on BLM-administered lands in montana. Access to this information is vital for the BLM and other public and private land managers when considering invertebrates in environmental review, planning, and permitting.
