MUCH OF BLM LANDS IN TETON COUNTY, WYOMING ARE LOCATED ALONG THE SNAKE RIVER. NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL OF ALL STATE OF WYOMING DESIGNATED AND TETON COUNTY DECLARED SPECIES WILL OCCUR DURING THE SUMMER OF 2022 ON BLM LANDS WITHIN TETON COUNTY, WYOMING. TETON COUNTY WEED AND PEST DISTRICT CREWS WILL TREAT, MONITOR AND MAP INFESTATIONS IN THESE AREAS. BLM FUNDS WILL BE USED TO TREAT BLM LANDS. ADDITIONAL NOXIOUS WEED TREATMENTS WILL BE ONGOING ON LANDS ADJACENT TO BLM, INCLUDING THE SNAKE RIVER LEVEE SYSTEM, THROUGH FUNDING AND PARTNERSHIPS AMONG ALL MEMBERS OF THE JACKSON HOLE WEED MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION. BLM IS A LONGSTANDING PARTNER IN THIS COOPERATIVE WEED MANAGEMENT AREA AND THE JHWMA APPRECIATES THE CONTINUED SUPPORT. THE JHWMA WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1998. OUR SNAKE RIVER EDRR (EARLY DETECTION RAPID RESPONSE) PROJECT HAS BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN KEEPING NEW INVADERS SUCH AS PERENNIAL PEPPERWEED, SALTCEDAR AND RUSSIAN OLIVE FROM ESTABLISHING ON THE SNAKE RIVER SYSTEM. WITH THIS LEVEL OF SUPPORT, WE HOPE TO UTILIZE A PORTION OF BLM FUNDS TO COMPLIMENT THIS LABOR-INTENSIVE EFFORT. OVER THE YEARS, WE HAVE HAD STRONG SUPPORT FOR EDRR TREATMENTS, BIOLOGICAL CONTROL AND REVEGETATION PROJECTS ON THE RIVER SYSTEM FROM OUR JHWMA PARTNERS, ESPECIALLY TETON CONSERVATION DISTRICT, STATE AND PRIVATE FORESTRY GRANTS, GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, WYOMING GAME & FISH DEPARTMENT (SOUTH PARK HABITAT MANAGEMENT AREA) AND THE BRIDGER TETON NATIONAL FOREST. IN 2020 WE DEPLOYED THE WORKING DOGS FOR CONSERVATION AS PART OF THE EDRR PROGRAM WITH GREAT SUCCESS AND WILL BE DOING SO AGAIN ON ANOTHER STRETCH OF RIVER
