About this award
The Department of Labor's Bureau of International Labor Affairs awarded a $5 million cooperative agreement to Social Accountability International from December 2021 through June 2026 under the International Labor Programs (CFDA 17.401) grant program.
SAI will work in Malaysia to provide services addressing child labor as part of ILAB's mission to enforce trade commitments, strengthen labor standards, and combat child labor and forced labor internationally. Specifically, SAI will collaborate with the DOL on technical assistance and capacity-building efforts to help Malaysia reduce child labor through implementation of its national action plan and engagement of local stakeholders. The four-year project term and funding amount suggest comprehensive, nationwide services to make meaningful progress on this issue.
