- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) awarded a $120,498 Cooperative Agreement to the University of Kansas Center for Research Inc. to maintain and expand the Kansas-based data services that support the National Ground-Water Monitoring Network (NGWMN) from July 15, 2023 through July 14, 2025. Under this project, the Kansas Geological Survey (KGS) will: 1) provide persistent data services to ensure that water-level data continues to flow to the NGWMN data portal and maintain up-to-date metadata for...
- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) awarded a $175,634 Cooperative Agreement to the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MSDEQ) under the National Ground-Water Monitoring Network (NGWMN) program (CFDA 15.980). The project period runs from August 1, 2023 through July 31, 2025. Under this award, MSDEQ will: 1) provide persistent data services for two years to ensure continuous flow of Mississippi's water-level data to the NGWMN data portal; 2) update metadata for NGWMN monitoring...
- The University of Iowa was awarded a $182,594 Cooperative Agreement from the U.S. Geological Survey to support the National Ground-Water Monitoring Network (CFDA 15.980) program. Under this 2-year project, the Iowa Geological Survey, as a current data provider for the NGWMN, will enhance the water-level data it collects and delivers to the NGWMN data portal. Key activities include revising web services, installing continuous water-level monitoring equipment on 3 new wells and 1 modified existing...
- This Project Grant award, funded by the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation under the SECURE Water Act - Research Agreements program (CFDA 15.560), will examine the influence of whole valley-floor restoration on late summer baseflows in Meadow Creek, Oregon. The $116,505 award, effective August 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026, will use two complementary approaches: Developing a surface flow model (HEC-RAS-2D) linked with a groundwater flow model (FLOPY) to simulate pre-...
- This $621,463 federal Project Grant award from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) under the Assistance to State Water Resources Research Institutes (CFDA 15.805) program aims to improve national-scale estimates of poorly constrained water budget components. The award to Oregon State University (OSU) will leverage precipitation stable isotope data and hydrologic models to diagnose biases in evaporation and transpiration fluxes within advanced operational models. The project will focus on four...
OREGON WATER RESOURCES DEPARTMENTPROJECT TITLE: OREGON WATER RESOURCES DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE FUNDING FOR EXISTING NGWMN DATA PROVIDERPROJECT PERIOD: 9 15 2025 THROUGH 9 14 2027THE OREGON WATER RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (ORWRD) IS A CURRENT WATER-LEVEL AND WATER QUALITY NETWORK DATA PROVIDER. THIS PROJECT IS TO SUPPORT FLOW OF THE DISTRICTS DATA TO THE NATIONAL GROUND-WATER MONITORING NETWORK (NGWMN).
