This project grant supports activities of the Board on Earth Sciences and Resources (BESR) and its Standing Committee on Solid Earth Geophysics (COSEG) to provide independent scientific expertise and advisory services addressing critical national...
- This three-year Project Grant from the National Science Foundation's Office of Integrative Activities provides $173,236 to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for its "COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH: GP-IN: CONNECTED TO EARTH: CROSS-CULTURAL KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE FOR ADVANCING EARTH SCIENCE LEARNING" program. The funding supports the Geosciences program (CFDA 47.050), which aims to strengthen the national scientific enterprise through expanded fundamental knowledge and understanding of the...
- Federal Grant Award Summary The National Science Foundation's Division of Earth Sciences awarded a $399,996 Project Grant to the Colorado School of Mines (effective September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2028) under the Geosciences program (CFDA 47.050) to conduct collaborative research on paleoclimate responses to consecutive warming events. The primary deliverables include a novel terrestrial dataset quantifying climate changes and Earth system responses across more than ten consecutive...
- Federal Project Grant Award Summary The American Museum of Natural History received a $499,970 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation's Division of Earth Sciences under the Geosciences program (CFDA 47.050), awarded September 1, 2025, with a completion date of August 31, 2028. The primary deliverable is scientific research investigating water concentrations in Earth's deep mantle regions, specifically the mantle transition zone (410-660 km depth) and lower mantle (660-2,900 km...
- This Project Grant award of $172,793 was provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Division of Earth Sciences under the Geosciences program (CFDA 47.050) to support a collaborative research project. The goal is to study a geological core sample from the U.S. Midwest that provides a record of the dramatic climate transition from a glacial "icehouse" period to a severe "hothouse" period approximately 300 million years ago, culminating in the largest mass extinction...
- Federal Project Grant Award Summary The American Geophysical Union (AGU) received a $499,943 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation's Geosciences program (CFDA 47.050) under the GEO OSE Track 1 initiative, awarded September 1, 2025, with a completion date of August 31, 2027. The grant funds the development of discipline-specific open science frameworks and infrastructure to advance Findable, Interoperable, Accessible, and Reusable (FAIR) data practices across three target...
