THIS PROJECT IS TO SUPPORT FLOW OF THE DISTRICT'S DATA TO THE NATIONAL GROUND-WATER MONITORING NETWORK (NGWMN) AND TO ENHANCE THE DATA COLLECTED BY THE PROVIDER FOR THE NGWMN.DURING THIS PROJECT THEY WILL PROVIDE PERSISTENT DATA SERVICES FOR TWO YEARS TO ENSURE THAT THEIR DATA CONTINUES TO FLOW TO THE NGWMN DATA PORTAL AND THAT THE METADATA FOR NETWORK SITES ARE UP TO DATE. THEY WILL ALSO REHABILITATE TWO WELLS AS PART OF WELL MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES. WORK ON THESE WELLS WILL INVOLVE REPLACING SURFACE CASING AND THE EXISTING CONCRETE PADS AND DOING WELL REDEVELOPMENT WORK ON THE WELLS. THEY WILL DRILL A NEW MONITORING WELL FOR THE NGWMN INTO THE UPPER FLORIDAN AQUIFER TO FILL A GAP IN THE NETWORK. THEY WILL ALSO COLLECT RELEVANT METADATA ON THE NEW WELL AND PROVIDE THIS DATA THROUGH THE MONITORING LOCATION REGISTRY. THEY WILL EQUIP THE WELL WITH WATER-LEVEL MONITORING EQUIPMENT AND WILL INITIATE SHARING OF DATA FROM THIS WELL THROUGH THE NGWMN DATA PORTAL. THE FUNDING FOR THE TWO-YEAR PROJECT IS $68,532.50.AS PART OF THE PROJECT THE SRWMD WILL: 1) DELIVER A PROJECT STATUS REPORT AFTER ONE YEAR OF WORK, 2) KEEP THE NGWMN MONITORING LOCATION REGISTRY UP TO DATE WITH LATEST SITE METADATA, 3) ENSURE THAT WEB SERVICES FOR THE NGWMN CONTINUE TO DELIVER DATA TO THE DATA PORTAL, AND 4) PRODUCE A FINAL REPORT DOCUMENTING ALL WORK ACCOMPLISHED DURING THE PROJECT.THE BENEFICIARIES OF THE WORK WILL BE THE: SUWANNEE RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT, THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, WATER USERS WITHIN THE SUWANNEE RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT BOUNDARIES, AND USERS OF THE NATIONAL GROUND-WATER MONITORING NETWORK.IN ADDITION TO WORK PERFORMED BY SRWMD STAFF, SOME OF THE PROJECT FUNDS ARE FOR SUBRECIPIENTS. WORK TO PERFORM WELL REHABILITATION WORK AT THE TWO SITES AND DRILLING OF THE UPPER FLORIDAN WELL WILL BE CONTRACTED TO A STATE OF FLORIDA LICENSED WATER WELL CONTRACTOR.
