The Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service awarded a $40 million Cooperative Agreement to Counterpart International, Inc. on September 23, 2025, under the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program (CFDA 10.608) to deliver school meals, teacher training, maternal and child nutrition support, and literacy programming in Senegal through September 30, 2031.
Counterpart International will implement preschool and school food for education programs, provide technical assistance for food security, and deliver maternal, infant, and child nutrition activities targeting pregnant women, nursing mothers, infants, and children aged five and younger. The program aims to improve food security, reduce hunger incidence, and strengthen primary education enrollment and literacy, particularly among girls.
Place of performance is Senegal. The six-year period of performance runs from the award date through September 30, 2031.
