Description

Resources specific to interior alaska are available regarding the benefits and functions of riparian zones, as well as the ecological, hydrological and commercial costs associated with its removal or degradation. Relatedly, routine field assessments are required to identify streambank areas most in need of riparian restoration. Such monitoring allows the identification of both preventative and remedial actions that could be taken, so that directed efforts can be made to connect landowners with appropriate resources and inform on opportunities that allow for more sustainable management of wildlife habitat.
