Description

Located on east pine creek, the dearth melhorn diversion is a concrete structure that is identified on the odfw fish passage priority list. This proposal will develop the final design of a fish passage project that includes two natural roughened channel structures and a rotary drum fish screen on the associated irrigation ditch. One of the roughened channels will be constructed to divert water into the fish screen and buried pipeline. The design will move the diversion some distance upstream and incorporate a durable, low head grade control structure designed to withstand high water events and maintain a water control elevation that will still pass irrigation water and provide volitional fish passage. The design phase starts with a wetland and alternative assessment that incorporates water user and resource needs while maintaining environmental clearances.
