About this award
The U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service awarded a 24-month, $100,400 Cooperative Agreement under the National Fish Habitat Partnership program (CFDA 15.686) to The Nature Conservancy. The agreement will fund the collection, processing, and analysis of high-resolution 3D imagery in West Hawaii to guide habitat restoration efforts at six coastal sites (four anchialine pools and two fishponds) in partnership with the Hui Loko Network. This methodology will enable assessment of habitat types, tracking of restoration progress over time, and projection of sea level rise impacts to these coastal estuaries. The project aims to benefit fish, habitat, managers, and researchers across Hawaii, improving collective ability to monitor and prioritize conservation efforts.
