Description

Title: collaborative work through the saltmarsh habitat avian research program (SHARP)abstract: the saltmarsh sparrow and other tidal marsh birds have undergone substantialpopulation declines since the 1990S, in concert with changing salt marsh conditions linked tosea-level rise and upland development. The saltmarsh habitat and avian research program(SHARP) is working with partners in governmental agencies, conservation non-profits, academicorganizations, and private citizens to understand the causes of these declines and to identifyremedies. This project will support continued efforts to track and understand populationchange in these species, through field-based and remote-sensing methods, and will result in thegeneration of new data, geographic data layers, and analyses that can be used to guide longtermconservation planning and the implementation of management activities.
