About this award

The Minnesota Sharp-Tailed Grouse Society will provide habitat restoration services totaling $241,500 under a Cooperative Agreement awarded by the U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service Region 3. The funding supports work through December 2025 to aid the Partners for Fish and Wildlife program (CFDA 15.631) in restoring 800 acres of wetland and upland habitat on private lands in Minnesota.

As a sub-awardee, the Society will deliver financial and technical assistance to private landowners to carry out conservation projects consistent with Service priorities. These efforts will restore and enhance wetland, grassland, and brushland habitats in areas identified as high priorities by joint venture conservation plans and the Service's strategic plan. The habitat improvements are intended to benefit federal trust resources including various migratory birds, threatened and endangered species, and at-risk wildlife.
