This new reactor will be specifically designed to produce critical short-lived medical radioisotopes for use in diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. The 3-year project will develop the...
This $900,000 federal Project Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), under the Nuclear Energy Research, Development and Demonstration program (CFDA 81.121), supports nuclear energy research at North Carolina State University (NC State) from August 1, 2024, through September 30, 2027. The key products and services to be delivered under this award include: Mechanical properties testing of unirradiated and irradiated materials, including miniature tensile tests, nano tensile tests,...
The NK Labs, LLC federal Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E) program is focused on advancing the development of active target technology for muon-catalyzed fusion energy. The $500,000 award, granted on Sep 22, 2023, aims to develop a design with further reduced beam energy per muon to strengthen the case for the feasibility of power production using muon-catalyzed fusion. This 2-year project supports ARPA-E's mission to...
This Project Grant award from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under the Congressionally-Identified Projects program (CFDA 11.617) provides $4,000,000 to the University of Missouri System to acquire a specialized hot cell for the production of Lutetium-177 (Lu-177). Lu-177 is a radioisotope used in breakthrough cancer treatments, and the University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) is currently the sole supplier of Lu-177 in North America. The goal of this project is...
The National Science Foundation (NSF), through its Integrative Activities program (CFDA 47.083), awarded a $271,925 Project Grant to Montana State University (MSU) to acquire a helium recovery system for their NMR core facility. This system will reduce MSU's consumption of liquid helium, which is required to operate the state-of-the-art NMR spectrometers. The helium recovery system will lower the facility's operational costs and carbon footprint, making the NMR core's activities more sustainable...
This $1,000,000 Project Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Nuclear Energy (CFDA 81.121 - Nuclear Energy Research, Development and Demonstration) supports comprehensive research initiatives at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Pittsburgh focused on advancing nuclear energy science and technology. The key research efforts under this grant include: Computational thermodynamic and diffusional modeling on the Fe-Cr-Al-Mo alloy system to understand the...
This $625,000 Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Nuclear Energy under the CFDA 81.121 Nuclear Energy Research, Development and Demonstration program will support North Carolina State University's (NC State) research and development activities focused on advancing nuclear energy science and technology. The grant will fund a 5-year research initiative at NC State to address technical, cost, safety, security, and proliferation resistance challenges in the nuclear...
This federal Project Grant award of $900,000.00 was provided by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Nuclear Energy under the Nuclear Energy Research, Development and Demonstration program (CFDA 81.121) to the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) on August 1, 2024.
