The project aims to drive a paradigm shift in chemical...
INTEGRATED METHANE MONITORING PLATFORM EXTENSION (IMMPE) THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO EXPAND KNOWLEDGE OF METHANE MEASUREMENT TECHNOLOGIES TO IMPROVE ACCURACY, QUANTIFICATION, AND DETECTION CAPABILITIES FOR BOTH LOCAL DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES AND UPSTREAM/MIDSTREAM SEGMENTS OF THE NATURAL GAS VALUE CHAIN. UPON COMPLETION, THE IMMPE WILL OFFER A STANDARDIZED FRAMEWORK FOR METHANE MEASUREMENT AND QUANTIFICATION THAT CAN EXTEND TO UPSTREAM COMPONENTS, INCLUDING MIDSTREAM TRANSMISSION AND STORAGE, AND UPSTREAM PRODUCTION AND GATHERING RELATED ACTIVITIES. OUTCOMES THE PROJECT SEEKS TO ACHIEVE ARE: (1) FURTHER RESEARCH AND TESTING OF METHANE MONITORING TECHNOLOGY ACROSS VARIOUS ASSET CLASSES; (2) MITIGATION OF FUGITIVE EMISSIONS IDENTIFIED VIA DEPLOYED METHANE DETECTION AND MONITORING TECHNOLOGIES AND MEASUREMENT OF IMPACT (E.G., COMMUNITY IMPACT, EMISSION IMPACT); (3) DEVELOPMENT OF A TEMPLATE AND SUMMARY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR METHANE EMISSIONS MONITORING AND REDUCTIONS THAT CAN BE READILY REPLICATED BY OTHERS, INCLUDING MIDSTREAM AND UPSTREAM APPLICATIONS; AND (4) EDUCATION OF REGULATORS ON THE VALUE OF METHANE MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS AS A PRUDENT ELEMENT FOR COST RECOVERY.
