Description

Next generation advanced electrolyte systems for radical cost-reduction of seawater and brine-derived magnesium metal the objective of the project is to produce magnesium (MG) from new magnesium chloride (MGCL2) brines leveraging optimized eutectics. A variety of electrolytes would be analyzed to discover electrolyte compositions that allow deep eutectic points for better energy recovery, and a high fraction of local salt impurities to accommodate a range of MGCL2 brine feedstocks.
