THE PURPOSE OF THIS AGREEMENT IS TO CONDUCT ANIMAL DISEASE TRACEABILITY ACTIVITIES THAT WILL PROVIDE SPECIFIC INFORMATION TO THE RECIPIENT, APHIS, AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES FOR VARIOUS COMMODITIES UNDER ANIMAL DISEASE TRACEABILITY AGREEMENT. PROVIDE ANIMAL IDENTIFICATION TO PRODUCERS, ENTER AND TRACK IN DATABASES AND TO CONDUCT TRACEABILITY IN A TIMELY MANNER DURING EXERCISE OR IN REAL-LIFE DISEASE TRACKING. IDOA WILL CONDUCT ANIMAL TRACEABILITY IN A TIMELY AND EFFECTIVE MANNER. ALL STAFF WILL SERVE A ROLE IN ENSURING OFFICIAL IDENTIFICATION DEVICES ARE AVAILABLE AND UTILIZED. THIS WILL OCCUR IN A VARIETY OF WAYS, FROM FIELD ACTIVITIES IN WHICH THEY WILL BE APPLIED OR UTILIZED, EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS, AND OTHER SPEAKING EVENTS TO THE MANDATORY USE OF ELECTRONIC IDENTIFICATION (EID) AT THE ILLINOIS STATE AND COUNTY FAIRS. OVER 68 ,000 EID EAR TAGS ARE DISTRIBUTED. FIELD VETERINARIANS WILL VISIT AUCTION MARKETS AND CLINICS FOR COMPLIANCE, EDUCATIONAL AND DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES. IDOA LICENSES 17 AUCTION MARKETS WHICH WILL BE VISITED 3X PER YEAR FOR INSPECTIONS OR EDUCATIONAL VISITS. IDOA LICENSES APPROXIMATELY 58 LIVESTOCK DEALERS WHO WILL BE VISITED AS POSSIBLE. ILLINOIS WILL VISIT 1,571 ACCREDITED VETERINARIANS WHO CAN PERFORM ACCREDITED DUTIES ON LIVESTOCK. IN ADDITION, THE 5 READERS THAT IDOA OWNS WILL BE USED AT FAIRS AND OTHER EVENTS TO DEMONSTRATE AND CAN ALSO BE LOANED WHEN AVAILABLE FOR EVENTS. THEY WILL CONTINUE PA RTNERSHIPS WITH KEY AGENCIES SUCH AS ILLINOIS BEEF ASSOCIATION, ILLINOIS PORK PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION, FARM BUREAU AND OTHER ENTITIES TO PROVIDE EDUCATION TO THEIR MEMBERS AND CONDUCT DISTRIBUTION EVENTS AT MEETINGS QUARTERLY. IDOA WILL CONTINUE TO UTILIZE APPLICABLE STATE AND FEDERAL DATABASES FOR RECORDKEEPING AND DATA ENTRY. THESE RECORDS WILL INCLUDE TAG DISTRIBUTION AND APPLICATIONS, CERTIFICATE OF VETERINARY INSPECTION (CVIS), TEST RECORDS, AND OTHER DATA OBTAINED. IDOA REVIEWS 6500 PAPER CVIS AND 41,000 ELECTRONIC CVIS. IDOA HAS BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR STAFFING NUMBERS. THIS HAS ALLOWED IDOA TO BE ABLE TO ENTER THE 6500 PAPER CVIS INTO SYSTEMS TO SUPPORT TRACEABILITY AND ACCESS DATA EASILY ACROSS GROUPS. IDOA WILL UTILIZE THE VARIOUS SYSTEMS AVAILABLE TO COMPLETE THE ASSIGNED TPMS. THESE EXERCISES WILL DEMONSTRATE THE ABILITY OF IDOA TO GATHER INFORMATION ON ANIMALS BOTH IMPORTED INTO AND EXPORTED FROM ILLINOIS. IDOA'S WORK WILL ENHANCE THE ABILITY TO QUICKLY PERFORM DISEASE EPIDEMIOLOGY TRACES. THIS WORK WILL HELP PROMOTE THE UNITED STATES' EXPORT MARKETS BY SHOWING QUICK DISEASE TRACEABILITY AND RESPONSE. THESE EFFORTS WILL IMPROVE ANIMAL DISEASE TR ACEABILITY AND COMPLIANCE FOR MORE THAN 1,500,000 CATTLE, 30,000 GOATS, 58,000 SHEEP, AND 5,500,000 HOGS. THIS ABILITY TO PERFORM ANIMAL DISEASE TRACEABILITY HELPS TO ENSURE FOOD SAFETY AND THE INTEGRITY OF OUR LIVESTOCK EXPORT MARKETS FOR THE U.S. PUBLIC. THERE ARE NO SUBAWARDS AWARDED WITH THIS AGREEMENT. BUDGET: RECIPIENT PERSONNEL AND FRINGE-- $51,000; RECIPIENT TRAVEL AND ATTENDING RELEVANT CONFERENCE-- $4,084; CONTRACTUAL-USAHERDS MAINTENANCE-- $25,000.
