The agreement funds comprehensive surveillance, preparedness enhancement, and response activities for program diseases and foreign animal diseases affecting cattle, sheep, goats, cervids, poultry, and swine across Missouri. Key deliverables include epidemiologic investigations of regulatory, foreign animal, and emerging diseases recorded in a tracking database; attendance by at least 10 Division staff members at up to five national meetings and more than 10 state industry meetings; Foreign Animal Disease Diagnostician training for Veterinary Medical Officers; quarterly in-person staff meetings focused on disease concerns and response protocols; and maintenance and exercising of diagnostic equipment including a KIFCO machine and CO2 carts.
