About this award

The Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service awarded Colorado State University a $110,000 Cooperative Agreement on February 9, 2026, to extend analytical methods for parameter estimation of bovine tuberculosis transmission, apply these methods to U.S. herd surveillance data, and explore obtaining additional datasets. The resulting transmission models will support epidemiological analysis of TB-affected herds and provide parameter estimates for transmission rates. Work is performed in Colorado and runs through February 8, 2027, under the Plant and Animal Disease, Pest Control, and Animal Care program (CFDA 10.025).

Colorado State University's Sponsored Programs division passed through $110,000 to Linkopings Universitet as a sub-recipient on March 5, 2026. Linkoping collaborators will extend analytical methods for parameter estimation of bovine TB transmission tailored to test-in-series data, apply these methods to Michigan surveillance data, and participate in virtual biweekly project meetings.

Description

Extend analytical methods for parameter estimation of bovine tuberculosis (BTB) transmission, to apply these methods to data collect ED from herds in the united states, and to explore the possibility of obtaining additional data. The resulting model will help in future analysis of additional datasets, and the estimated parameters will provide important information regarding transmission rates and will support epidemiological modeling of TB-affected herds in the US.
