Description

Purpose
The purpose of this agreement is to provide funding for the AR dept of AG to an asian defoliator survey in arkansas as part of the PPA 7721 goal 1S survey program intended to find introduced 3 species of exotic forest pests and spotted lanternfly all of which are of regulatory significance to both PPQ and the AR dept of AG. Intention is to find these pests in time to effect eradication before they become established.
Activities
This survey will be conducted in several geographically separate parts of the state over the course of a few years according to the approved methods as listed in the approved survey methods on the caps website. Education and outreach efforts will also be conducted. Outreach activities will also be conducted with landowners participating in surveys to educate them about OAK pest risks…how to recognize suspect pests and to how to report them to state and federal regulatory agencies. Deliverables and expected outcomes: presence/absence data for these exotic pests of forests in arkansas.
