Description
- Activities
- Vdacs will ensure cotton growers are informed about survey efforts, collect cotton field data, and develop necessary survey tools. Vdacs personnel will then conduct visual survey sites on commercial cotton farms and nurseries located in southeastern virginia. Deliverables and expected outcomes: the goal is to conduct surveys in high risk pathway sites to detect the presence of cotton pests. The anticipated outcomes include determining the pest's presence or absence and supporting state and federal export trade by ensuring compliance with phytosanitary requirements. Intended beneficiary(IES): while virginia's commercial cotton producers are the primary beneficiaries, the U.S. Cotton industry and producers of other host plants also benefit from this survey, along with increased confidence in international trade. Early detection of the target pests supports vdacs, USDA, and other regulatory partners by enabling timely response actions and reducing the potential negative impacts their establishment could have on affected crops. Subrecipient activities, if known or specified at the time of award: no known subrecipients. Cost analysis: personnel-$13,560.00; fringe benefits @44.85%-$6,081.66. Travel(mileage, lodging)-$4,958.50. Supplies(bags, collections supplies, etc)-$2,074.83, indirect cost-$5,325.01.
