THE PURPOSE OF THIS AGREEMENT IS TO PROVIDE NEW MEXICO LIVESTOCK BOARD THE MEANS TO ENGAGE IN NEW MEXICO USDA PROGRAMS SUCH AS TB, BRUCELLOSIS, AVIAN, EMERGENCY RESPONSE, AND FAD ACTIVITIES. THE ACTIVITIES OF THIS AWARD WILL BE CONDUCTED BY NEW MEXICO LIVESTOCK BOARD (NMLB). NMLB WILL WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH USDA APHIS VS TO CONDUCT TB TESTING, FOREIGN ANIMAL DISEASE INVESTIGATIONS, AND PROGRAM OUTREACH. THE GOAL OF THIS AWARD IS TO CONDUCT SURVEILLANCE ACTIVITIES FOR AVIAN AND BSE. WORK TOWARDS REDUCING ANIMAL DISEASE TO ENHANCE ANIMAL HEALTH AND CONTAINMENT OF POTENTIALLY INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
