About this award

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) awarded $4.5 million to the Ohio Department of Agriculture under the Plant and Animal Disease, Pest Control, and Animal Care program (CFDA 10.025) to eradicate Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB) infestation in Ohio. The one-year cooperative agreement, effective September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026, funds a comprehensive pest eradication initiative encompassing delimitation surveys throughout the year, removal and deregulation of infested host trees as detected, treatment of high-risk host trees, contractor oversight, and enforcement and adjustment of the ALB quarantine as necessary. The awardee will deliver semi-annual and annual accomplishment reports detailing work results, along with weekly progress reports tracking information for the reporting week, year-to-date, and cumulative program metrics since program inception.

The expected outcome is complete eradication of ALB from Ohio.
