Description

The primary purpose of this project is to develop methods and protocolsfor detection and control of anoplophora chinensis (forster) (insecta:coleoptera: cerambycidae), the citrus longhorned beetle (CLB). Thisproject will locate new field sites in the anhui province ofchina/vietnam and then field test female pheromone blends for potentialuse as monitoring lures . We hope to have a lure/trap system at the endof this project that will be useful for monitoring citrus longhornbeetle. This would be a valuable survey tool should this cerambycidbeetle ever become established in the USA. This project should alsoproduce a publication in a scientific peer reviewed journal that willgive a clearer picture of this pests chemical ecology and behavior. Afinal project report will also be written for PPQ and projectstakeholders.
