Description
The united keetoowah band of indians in oklahoma will use funds to purchase eligible food from 10 local farmers and producers, 4 of whom are socially disadvantaged. The tribe plans to buy seasonal surplus from united keetoowah members who farm and produce cultural foods like wishi, watercress, strawberries, huckleberries, and wild onions. The goal is to provide local, healthy, and cultural foods to aid tribe members and homebound elders during times of inflation and pandemics. Quarterly reports will capture the number of producers, socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers, distribution sites, underserved locations, and funds spent. Annual reports will show percentages of new marketing opportunities and purchases distributed beyond current food networks. The recipient does not intend to subaward funds.
