THE BROWNFIELDS SITES INCLUDE A DECOMMISSIONED AIRPORT FOR MANUFACTURING DEVELOPMENT, SEVERAL PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF WEED DESTROYED BY MAJOR FIRE, AND BLIGHTED PROPERTIES IDENTIFED AS FUTURE GREENWAYS IN THE CITY OF YREKA. THESE SITES HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO IMPROVE LIVABILITY OF NEARBY POPULATIONS, REMOVE ASSOCIATED HEALTH RISKS, ENCOURAGE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING, GREATER TRANSPORTATION CHOICES AND FOSTER JOB GROWTH.
