THIS AGREEMENT WILL PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE CITY OF PHOENIX TO INVENTORY, CHARACTERIZE, ASSESS, AND CONDUCT CLEANUP PLANNING AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT RELATED ACTIVITIES FOR BROWNFIELD SITES IN THE THE CITIES OF AVONDALE, TEMPE, AND PHOENIX, AZ. THIS BROWNFIELDS GRANT WILL BE A KEY TO REALIZING THE RIO REIMAGINED VISION OF A COMMUNITY CONNECTED TO THE RIVER WITH ECONOMIC GROWTH, ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP, AND ACCESS FOR ALL. THE TARGET AREA FOR ASSESSMENTS AND OTHER WORK FOR THIS GRANT IS WITHIN 1.0 MILE OF THE RIO SALADO (SALT RIVER), AGUA FRIA AND GILA RIVERS WITHIN THE CITIES OF TEMPE, PHOENIX AND AVONDALE, ARIZONA.
