DESCRIPTION:THIS AGREEMENT PROVIDES FUNDING TO CITY OF CAPE MAY TO IMPLEMENT ITS PROJECT TO DESIGN A DRINKING WATER TREATMENT PLANT EXPANSION AS DIRECTED IN THE 2023 CONSOLIDATED APPROPRIATIONS ACT OR AS IDENTIFIED IN AN APPROVED TECHNICAL CORRECTION IF ONE HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR THIS PROJECT. ACTIVITIES:THE ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED ARE: THE PRELIMINARY DESIGN WILL INCLUDE THE PREPARATION OF 70% COMPLETE ENGINEERING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. THE DESIGN PLANS WILL BE SUBMITTED FOR REVIEW AT 30% AND 50% COMPLETION. THE EQUIPMENT AND OTHER MATERIAL SELECTION WILL BE PART OF THE PRELIMINARY DESIGN PHASE, AND RELATED SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE COMPLIANT WITH THE BUILD AMERICA/BUY AMERICA AND AMERICAN IRON STEEL ACTS. A GEOTECHNICAL SURVEY WILL BE CONDUCTED DURING THIS PHASE THROUGH SOIL BORINGS INSTALLED AT STRATEGIC LOCATIONS FOR THE STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF THE FACILITY. THIS PHASE ALSO INCLUDES SUBMISSION OF PERMITS TO VARIOUS STATE AND LOCAL AGENCIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COASTAL AREA FACILITY REVIEW ACT (CAFRA), WETLANDS AND CAPE ATLANTIC SOIL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL.
