The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a 5-year, $7,700,000 Cooperative Agreement (Federal Grant Award ID: 720BHA24CA00037) to Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA) under the Food for Peace Development Assistance Program (CFDA 98.007) to implement the Vikina Resilience Food Security Activity in southeastern Madagascar.
Under this award, CNFA and its partners will deliver the Graduation Approach to 34,000 households across three cohorts in the Farafangana and Vangaindrano districts, focusing on improving access, availability, and utilization of food in the food-insecure region. The key components of the Graduation Approach involve providing participants with asset transfers, consumption support, savings facilitation, skills training, and coaching to help lift households out of poverty and strengthen their long-term resilience.
